Jessica Boston, Owner/Founder
Helping others has always given me purpose and it has always been my passion to create. I was born and raised in Louisville, KY, attended Brown School from Kindergarten until graduating and got my bachelor’s from Eastern Kentucky University in Psychology and Child & Family Studies. The future holds completion of my master’s to become a licensed mental health counselor. I started the brand, originally called EsScentuals, in 2016. I was unhappy in my career after college and wanted to take a step toward my dream of entrepreneurship. After getting caught up in my social work career and leaving the business on the back burner, that served as a reminder that I let stress take over and I left myself behind as well. I knew it was time to get serious about my self-care so I started to advocate for social work professionals at my job and began coordinating events, activities, and conversations focused around self-care, compassion fatigue, etc. The spark never left, and I had grown as a person, prioritized my self-care, and moved to a new block. EsScentuals became Brook & Oak Collective. I’m a strong advocate for keeping it simple, natural, and knowing exactly what you’re putting into your body and how it benefits your health.
Brook + Oak Collective is a brand and community dedicated to creating and curating products and experiences that are good for the mind, body, and soul. Brook + Oak Collective is a community of like-minded individuals and creatives that care about the environment, others, and themselves. We strive to create a culture of compassion, inclusivity, sustainability, and wellness.
Brook + Oak Collective is an avenue to share my passion and perspective with the world. This collective is a collaborative space dedicated to holistic health, cultural celebration and appreciation, sustainability and the arts. It’s so much bigger than selling products, sharing information, art, music, and hosting events. It’s providing support for the community. It’s a reminder to care for yourself, others, and the environment. It’s advocating for all gender identifications to feel comfortable establishing a self-care, skincare and/or hair care routine. Brook and Oak Collective is a place to cultivate what you need to establish your version of a better life. Encouragement to be your authentic self. Encouragement to spread love and light to others at all times. We will meet you wherever you are on your journey to self-improvement, self-love, and self-care.
